WHERE THE MONEY GOES

The eight lines on every Bangalore wedding budget

Indicative Bangalore ranges for a 200-guest wedding. Prices rise with five-star venues, non-veg menus, peak dates and décor density.

Venue rental

Community and kalyana mantapa halls ₹50,000–₹2,50,000 a day; mid-range banquet halls ₹1,00,000–₹5,00,000; five-star ballrooms ₹5,00,000–₹15,00,000. Many halls bundle basic chairs, stage and a green room.

Catering per plate

Veg ₹800–₹1,500 at mid-range venues, ₹1,800–₹3,500 at five-star hotels; non-veg adds 20–30%. Multiply by guests and by functions: three functions at 200 guests is 600 plates.

Décor and mandap

Floral mandap and stage ₹1,50,000–₹4,00,000; themed or designer sets ₹5,00,000–₹10,00,000+. Fresh flowers (marigold, roses, orchids) drive most of the variation.

Photography and film

₹1,00,000–₹4,00,000 for a two-day team with candid stills, traditional coverage, a cinematic film and drone where permitted.

Makeup, mehendi, attire support

Bridal makeup ₹25,000–₹75,000 per look, mehendi artist ₹15,000–₹50,000, dressers and family makeup on top. Outfits and jewellery sit outside the planner budget.

Entertainment and sangeet

DJ ₹30,000–₹80,000, live band ₹60,000–₹3,00,000, sangeet choreographer ₹25,000–₹1,00,000, emcee ₹15,000–₹50,000.

Invitations, gifts, rituals

Printed cards, e-invites, return gifts (₹150–₹950 each), puja samagri, priest dakshina and the mandapam items each tradition needs.

Planning and coordination

Planner-only fee ₹1,00,000–₹4,00,000 or 8–12% of the budget; BillionEvents charges ₹1,99,999 + GST for planning and coordination only, and all-in packages fold it into one number. See how to choose a wedding planner in Bangalore.

WHAT MOVES THE NUMBER

Seven things that change a wedding budget more than anything else

  1. Guest count. Every extra 50 guests adds roughly ₹60,000–₹1,50,000 across plates, seating, gifts and transport.
  2. Number of functions. Mehendi, haldi, sangeet, wedding and reception each need décor, food and a crew. Combining haldi and mehendi on one afternoon is the most common saving.
  3. Venue type. The same décor costs the same in a mantapa and a five-star ballroom; the hall and plate price are what change, by three to five times.
  4. Date. Muhurtam-heavy months (November–February, April–May) and Saturdays carry premiums on halls, photographers and makeup artists. Weekday and Sunday-evening weddings are cheaper.
  5. Décor density. Marigold and roses versus imported orchids and hydrangeas; one stage versus a themed set for each function.
  6. Menu. Veg versus non-veg, number of counters, live stations and desserts. A chaat and dosa counter adds ₹8,500–₹18,000 each.
  7. Distance. Destination weddings add stay blocks and travel for 100–300 people; budget ₹25 lakh upwards.

SPEND WHERE IT SHOWS

Six ways to cut a Bangalore wedding cost without it showing

Pick a Sunday evening or a weekday muhurtam

Halls and photographers price Saturdays highest. Many pandits will find an equally good muhurtam on a weekday.

Fold haldi into mehendi

One afternoon, one décor set-up, one meal. Guests rarely notice; the budget does.

Local flowers, dense placement

Marigold, jasmine and roses in volume photograph better than sparse imported stems.

Fix the guest list early

Plates are the single biggest line. A list that grows by 20% after booking breaks every other number.

One photography team for all functions

A two-day retainer costs less than booking function by function.

Ask for a line-item quote

Lump sums hide margins. Itemised quotes let you remove what you do not need. Ours are itemised as standard.

QUESTIONS

Questions couples ask

How much does a wedding planner charge in Bangalore?
Planner-only fees in Bangalore generally run ₹1,00,000–₹4,00,000 for full planning, or 8–12% of the wedding budget; day-of coordination alone is usually ₹50,000–₹1,50,000. All-in packages, where the planner also delivers décor, photography and entertainment, start around ₹3 lakh. BillionEvents charges ₹1,99,999 + GST for planning and coordination only, and all-in packages from ₹2,99,999 + GST for 50–150 guests.
What is the per-plate cost for a wedding in Bangalore?
Vegetarian wedding meals cost about ₹800–₹1,500 a plate at mid-range banquet halls and ₹1,800–₹3,500 at five-star hotels in 2026. Non-veg menus add 20–30%. Count plates per function, not per wedding: 200 guests across three functions is 600 plates.
Is ₹5 lakh enough for a wedding in Bangalore?
Yes, for an intimate wedding of 50–150 guests at a community hall or at home, with a floral mandap, a photographer and a vegetarian lunch. It will not stretch to a hotel venue or multiple functions at that size.
Do wedding packages include the venue?
Usually not. Venue rental and per-plate catering are billed by the venue because the venue sets those prices. BillionEvents packages cover planning, décor, coordination, photography, entertainment and guest logistics; we shortlist venues and negotiate on your behalf.
When are wedding costs highest in Bangalore?
November to February and April to May carry the most muhurtams, so halls, photographers and makeup artists charge peak rates then. Saturdays are the most expensive day. June to September and weekday dates are cheaper and easier to book.
How do I get an exact figure for my wedding?
Share the date, guest count, number of functions and a venue preference on WhatsApp. BillionEvents sends a line-item quote within 24 hours, with a first reply within 10 minutes during working hours.
